Alternative and Compelling

by BruceUSA

This song sounds like it is straight from Fleetwood Mac's Tusk. I'm sure if the song ever made it on the radio Lyndsey would be disappointed. It's clear that he's into creating different sounds, beats, harmonies and landscapes. He's not into creating hit singles anymore and I doubt that he respects other artists that are. This is definitely an interesting single, full of different textures. It gives listenors SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT TO LISTEN TO. Lyndsey is a true artist. Many that are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are not.

The Second Coming of Lindsey Buckingham

by Keith E.

There are a lot of great reasons to listen to Lindsey Buckingham aside from the genuine pleasure of the music itself. Lindsey is a creative force as writer, musician, vocalist and producer. His personal stamp is etched indelibly into every facet and nuance of his art -and Lindsey is a consumate performer and artist.

I have, over time, come to truly appreciate Lindsey's solo work. At first, I found it gave me greater insight into his considerable influence in Fleetwood Mac. That appreciation has continued to evolve and I find myself listening to his solo catalog with greater regularity. I have found, as my appreciation of his music has matured, that I really "get" Lindsey Buckingham.

This new song is outstanding. I am confused ny those that can't find the "beat" or "melody." I would remind you that many thought "Tusk" too far beyond the mainstream.

Lindsey's voice is an instrument and he clearly enjoys "playing" it. The beat is earthy and is both a compliment to the composition and driving force. The harmonies, again, reveal the talent Lindsey brings to Fleetwood Mac as producer. But this isn't Fleetwood Mac. I think it is something more.

I look forward to these "pure" expressions from Linsey Buckingham. They are playful, tonal, complex, simple. I listen to "Show You How" and I hear layers of listening pleasure I look forward to exploring, and am excited to hear the album. Thanks, Lindsey. I hope you plan to tour.

Fate Takes Time

This single is quite an auspicious peek at the album I've been waiting for for 10 years now! The song is simply incredible, the beat infectious and -- if Lindsey wrote the lyrics -- evidences quite an evolution in his word-writing ability. He's always been a brilliant musician, there's no doubt about that. But with "Miranda" and now the lyrics to "Show You How" his words today carry impact independent of his music. There's an inherent poetry there, alone all by themselves. They tell a story (beginning, middle and end) that lingers in the mind long after the melody ends. The other new songs I've heard from the album "Castaway Dreams" and "It Was You" are wonderful too, but "Show You How" is the best. I've been a fan of Lindsey's for a long time now, but if this were Day 1 I'd fall in awe all over again. I cannot wait for the October 3 release of the whole album. That's Lindsey's birthday, but I think I'll be getting the gift.
