Definitely Not a Sorry Excuse!

Smoke‘Em If You Got‘Em: what a great opening song. It makes you want to get up and dance. I think this is what my brain sounds like, crazy, hyper, loud and out of control.

Picture Taken In a Plain White Tee: These lyrics are amazing, and slightly haunting, you think about them long after the track is over. The voice-over is like a good horror-movie, it makes your toes crinkle up and makes your fingers cringe but you can’t turn it off.

Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die: This song has a great introduction, I love the vocals on this. The chorus is just what everyone wants, loud and echoes in your head for hours.

Hey Jesus Is At This Bar…: Boy, what an amazing song. This one flew under the radar, but it is simply outstanding. The melody is fantastic, the vocals stand out and overall, it’s just great. If you can’t buy the whole album, this is the one song you need to have.

Red Wagon Vs. Blue Blazer: This is the first song I ever heard from these guys. This song proved they were worth looking further into. I love the vocals on this. The lyrics are amazing. It reminds me of a song that should be in Japan, with the raspy over-voice that we’ve grown to love.

Cat Went Down In a Blaze Of Glory: Loud and crazy. The drums are amazing on this. Definitely worth noting. However, I can’t say much for the vocals, the whole song is pretty much straight screaming. Can’t complain. Overall a great song. I absolutely love this, worth buying.

We’ve Got the Game On Lockdown: This song is so much fun. The intro is 40 seconds long, but it sure is a great instrumental. But when the vocals come in, it’s like Whoa. This song will be playing in every club eventually. This one is TOTALLY worth buying.

Get It Right: Similar to the opening track, this one makes absolutely no sense. It sounds like a bunch of kids banging on drums and guitars and screaming out the first things they think of. Yet, this song is strangely enchanting. With some 80’s biker guitar rifts and loud harmonious screams you’ll fall in love with this song. Another one worth purchasing.

Attack!: This song starts off slow and enchanting and then goes into a cold, movie-quality voice that everyone can relate to. This one is worth way more than a buck. 5 Stars. You want to cry and sing-along to this, possibly the best on the album.

Sorry Excuse For An Ending: This sure isn’t a sorry excuse. What better way to close an album than with an amazing, heart-wrenching ballad? I like to listen to this before I go to sleep. It’s relaxing and soothing, especially after a hectic day.

This whole album has something for everyone. The whole thing is worth purchasing. I will definitely take this to my grave. There lyrics are so relatable to life, I am patiently awaiting their next album.

I can’t even tell you which songs I think are the best. They’re all amazing. But I guess if you can only buy a few, the note-worthy ones are: Picture Taken In a Plain White Tee, Smoke’Em If You Got’Em, and Get It Right. The true stand-outs, however, are Hey Jesus Is At This Bar…, We’ve Got the Game On Lockdown and Attack!.

My advice, definitely listen to the previews because every song is a different genre of rock. You’ll definitely find at least one song you like.
