Album Review

Fantasy's 11-track Greatest Hits doesn't dig much deeper than the hits, but it does contain all six of her charting singles, notably "Band of Gold," "Deeper and Deeper," and "Bring the Boys Home," plus five other fine singles and album tracks from her Invictus recordings. Yes, the aforementioned blockbusters shine the brightest here, but the rest of this is, at its worst, simply pleasant '70s soul, which means there are a few minor gems to be discovered here.

Bring the Boy's

Bring the Boy's Home is one of the best war protest songs ever. She ran into a lot of trouble with it's release and was called unpatriotic. Freda is still tops.

The best!

I've always been a fan of Freda Payne since 1970 when this song came out!! It was considered the start of the 'disco' songs! This album is great. I do recall when the song "Bring the boys Home" which reflected the Vietnam War she got a lot of flack from radio stations but she stood firm!
