Album Review
Recorded at the Gibson Amphitheatre in California on June 28, 2006, Real Live Roadrunning features live renditions of all of the cuts from Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris' collaboration of the same name, as well as solo cuts from each and Dire Straits classics like "So Far Away" and "Romeo & Juliet." The musicianship is as flawless as expected, but there's not a whole lot to separate the tunes here from their studio sisters. The accompanying DVD is a much better example of the pair's quiet dynamic, allowing both the duo and its talented band a broader spectrum on which to emit their wry tales of love, loss, and life.

Really a nice sound . Emmylou's honey coated voice and Mark's gravel
vocals pair beautifully backed by his tight guitar and a lively crew of backup players.

by Tex_1946If you've stopped to read this you know you are a hopeless romantic. This album is so wonderful. I swear at times I hear Eric and Sting and some others in the mix, but of course they aren't there, it's just the sweetness oozeing from your speakers, the resinator and the Fender in the Romeo and Juliet track. Go on and buy the album pour up a glass of your favorite nectar of the gods and lean back and feel fine. Once again ... Thank You MK !

by pippieThis is one of those albums you will wear out. This is one of those albums you will always enjoy, as will younger listeners, because everybody gets it. As soon as you hear a few notes, you realize you are privileged to be in on the secret. Both are geniuses, her voice is incomparable, honey sliding off a spoon, and his guitar....oh his guitar, how he can bend the notes almost eliciting the guitar's emotions. His sandpaper mixed with her angelic strains is the new gold standard in duets.
