Album Review
Though he occasionally branches out into other styles, Chuck Loeb is at heart, a pop-oriented smooth jazz guitarist. Presence finds Loeb smack in the middle of his comfort zone. "Llevame" adds some Latin percussion and murmured female vocals, "The Western Sky" incorporates a vaguely new age synth wash, and "The Music Outside" flirts a bit with quiet storm R&B, but at heart, this is utterly straightforward smooth jazz with Loeb's laid-back, tasty soloing front and center. Even the pair of pop covers, Steely Dan's "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" and James Taylor's "Shed a Little Light," are transformed into showcases for Loeb's inimitable style. Unapologetically mellow and buffed to a high-sheen gloss, Presence is smooth jazz for folks who think they just don't make smooth jazz records like this anymore.

Wonderful Guitar Playing
by MusicCEOChuck Loeb is a wonderful guitar player. I watched him on BET Studio Jams where he and other musicians jam over a few songs. He was awesome. I also like Marc Antoine, Shane Isenberg and Peter White.
Unassuming
by FlaDaveChuck Loeb has to be the most unassuming jazz artist on the planet. He simply takes nothing for granted, even his past brilliant artistic efforts. This release proves that Mr. Loeb is not standing on past accomplishments, but continuing to push the envelope with new jazz riffs and creative stylings. I met Chuck this past year at a concert event and I can tell you he is, as advertised, a quiet jazz artist with a genius for turning a pop song into a great smooth jazz rendition. (and, his wife is a great singer). You owe it to yourself to see this guy in person.
There is definately Creativity
by Mattc216Paul Brown's Las Vegas was written by Chuck Loeb, there is no reason not to buy this album. The tunes are relaxing and just because Good to Go is similar to Las Vegas doesn't mean one shouldn't by this album. The fact that he wrote that song for another successful artist is creativity enough.
