They've come a long way
by ReallyBadReverbHarris have certainly grown from their days as darlings of UMass Lowell's college music scene. Gone are the pseudo-metal leanings and synthesizer-set-on-piano licks. Harris now brings you lyrically rich songs, intricate guitar interplay, subtle but interesting (actual) synth lines and a truly solid batch of songs. There are still several "moshable" cuts such as "Last Sentiment" and "Worse Company" but they are balanced with the danceable pop of "Like Origami" and the majestic album closer, "Captain." Other highlights include "Carousel" (look for the video on Youtube), "New Color" and "Pace of Change." They also put on an energetic live show to boot, so if you live in the Boston area be sure to keep an eye peeled for any bill featuring Harris.
