The Durgas
by Zebralution04The Durgas’ music reflects their unique, intercontinental approach – apart from powerful rock/pop/blues their music also consists of authentic Reggae, African and East-European Folk elements, as well as Mexicana and Americana influences. The brothers Benjii and Christopher Simmersbach draw much musical influence from their childhood, spent growing up all over the world including Thailand, Tanzania, Mali, and Senegal, as well as Germany, Italy, and The States -shown in the award winning (Adolf-Grimme-Preis) German documentary “The Big Pink-. The Durgas’ debut album “Back To The Start” was recorded in Berlin and was mixed by Boris Wilsdorf (Einstürzende Neubauten). The Album also features a guest appearance by longtime friend Chuck Prophet on “Wish I Could”. Cannery Row Records is releasing a special bonus edition of this album – remastered by Noa Winter Lazerus (The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits), with 3 bonus tracks recorded live in Hawaii, also mixed by Boris Wilsdorf, and a video clip to their song “The Whiskey Tree”.
