iTunes Review
It takes confidence to title your album Pure BS, even if your name is Blake Shelton. Fortunately, this 2007 release is remarkably bull-free, both in terms of the singer’s emotionally-engaged performances and the integrity of the material. There’s real longing and anguish to be heard in songs like “I Don’t Care,” “She Don’t Love Me,” and the Rodney Crowell-ish “I Have Been Lonely.” The standout in this vein is “Back There Again,” a pain-etched (but ultimately redemptive) narrative that ranks with Shelton’s early hit “The Baby” for heart-tugging impact. Shelton shakes off his sorrows on the barroom stomper “The More I Drink” and sets his inner rebel loose on “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Me.” He closes on a thoughtful note with “The Last Country Song,” a twang-laden protest against suburban sprawl featuring George Jones and John Anderson. Producers Bobby Braddock, Paul Worley and Brent Rowen keep the spotlight on Shelton’s burly yet nuanced vocals without dulling the bite of the tracks. If all of this is Pure BS, today’s country could use more of it.

by starry58I like this song. I just guess its a matter of taste. I listened to both versions and I like both of them. ts not that bad. My favorite is The more I drink. The video is great and the guy they got to play the one who couldn't drink was side splitting funny. He did a great job.
One of the best albums I have heard in years, in any genre of music.
by hdb80Blake got the job done. Every song on this albu is amazing. His vocals are flawless which makes the powerful lyrics even more powerful. I understand he was going through a divorce during the making of this album. Although I would never wish that on anyone, it sure made for a timeless, perfected album. I hope in the fututre he can keep up this calibre of music. Absolutely amazing.
