Never Leave Home w/out It
by discopunkkJake Walden is the best singer/songwriter you probably never heard of. Why he hasn't been signed by a major record label is confounding. But sometimes I think that might be a good thing. I doubt such talent could survive corporate dealings.
If you took Rod Stewart and Tom Waits and put them in a blender with a dash of Bruce Springsteen hit the power button...POW....you'd end up with Jake Walden. That's the best way to describe what he brings to the table.
One review below said that there are a bunch of little gems on this album but I disagree. The entire CD is a gem! One that will always remain on my iPhone. I'd never leave home without it.
I'm an addict...
by Hef-TEven after having this album for a few months now, I am still completely addicted to it. I know every word...and constantly sing the songs. Jake Walden is a phenomenal talent. Buy this album!

by mikeystpete2Actually, there is a LOT to like on Jake Walden's freshman effort: "Interlude," "Come Along" and "For Someone" might just be the best songs that Bruce Springsteen never wrote. The anthemic "We Are" is easily a beautiful standout on an otherwise gorgeously eclectic disc. If Tom Waits ever had a worthy musical prodigy to hand his mantle to, he might want to consider the vocal and songwriting stylings of Mr. Jake Walden. Yep, he's that good.
