iTunes Review

Loud Is the Night is the debut release from Hacienda, a Texas- based guitar/bass/drums/keyboards quartet that formed in 2006. The band, which is made up of three brothers and a cousin, is a refreshing blend of sweet harmonies, soulful vocals, and seriously catchy melodies. Co-produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys along with Dr. Dog, Hacienda shares the Keys’ stripped-down ethic and devotion to sincerity rather than studio polish. Led by a pair of stand-out singles (“She’s Got a Hold On Me,” “Shake Ya”), the album is packed with brief, sharply crafted songs that are pleasantly reminiscent of mid-‘60s Beach Boys and similar pop groups of that era. That said, Hacienda wears its influences lightly enough to let the band’s own sound shine through on the strength of its outstanding musicianship — the keyboards add much to the overall sound, the rhythm section is excellent, and there’s a lot of fine Telecaster work. Loud Is the Night is a solid debut from a band to watch.

I'm Sold

I first heard this band when they opened for Los Lonely Boys and Alejandro Escovedo during the recent Acoustic Brotherhood Tour. Actually, I saw them six times. (I am a big fan of LLB and can't go to just one concert.) The first time I heard Hacienda I knew I wanted the CD. By the end of the tour I was totally in love with their CD. I find myself humming their tunes all the time. Loud is the Night is both fresh and nostalgic. It has some great harmonies and really catchy melodies. Give it try!

Fabuloso!

Saw Hacienda open for Los Lonely Boys this past Saturday at William Paterson University. It ain't easy being the opening act, but they won us over big time.

And their performance of Baby Don't Go was a SWEET SURPRISE! It's so nice to hear a cover of one of the lesser known songs from the sixties.

Keep it up boys, you're doing great!

CHECK THESE GUYS OUT!

It's great to be able to hear music today that picks up the sounds from the 60's & 70's. I sometimes get tired of over playing my classic rock albums. I was stoked to discover these guys "Officer" is one of my favs, sounds like it came right off the white album. Love the guitar lick. I wanna hear more that! Keep it comin.
