iTunes Review

The iconic album cover speaks volumes, showing Bland entering Duke Records’ Houston headquarters. Sporting dark glasses, a six-inch highly process ‘do, and a sport coat casually slung over his shoulder, he looks every inch the smooth, captivating blues giant he’s always been. Just listen as Bland pours his bourbon-flavored baritone over some of his greatest performances on tracks such as “Cry, Cry, Cry,” “I Pity the Fool,” and the mind- blowing ballad “I’ll Take Care of You.”    The rest of the album isn’t shabby either, with other standouts including “St. James Infirmary” and “Lead Me On.” This is widely regarded as Bland’s best album, and one listen tells the listener why.

Is this the album you would recommend for a new Bobby Bland fan? I discovered him when I heard Mick Hucknall's tribute album to him. Thank you!
