iTunes Review
Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails was a "group" in the same chimeral way that Steely Dan was: mostly a marketing context for deeply personal musical visions. Indeed, this massive, double-disc 1999 follow-up to the breakthrough success of The Downward Spiral took nearly as long to cobble together as the average Steely Dan opus, and the years-long anticipation of its release saw it soar all-too-briefly to the top of the charts. Tracks like "The Day the World Went Away" and the standard-issue anti-record biz screed "Starf***ers Inc." show that Reznor had lost little of the hellfire in his belly, or the often innovative sonic wizardry with which he expressed it. But its harder, even bleaker ethos was clearly no Spiral clone either, though "Where Is Everybody" manages to distill some of the dance-floor grooves that had made NIN's breakthrough so resilient.

REALLY REALLY!!!!
by unwantedI hate to say it but i think this hole album is hard core and is very underestimated still. When i look at this album i see The Mona Lisa. It is the work of a very talented and artistic Trent Reznor. Yet this world upsets me more and more every day. Society should not frown upon this record as a disgrace to this world. They should really embrace this album as if it was their child.
Well after saying that, you should take time to listen to every song on this Record instead of just buy the song you friend said was cool. find out for your self.

by blackspy868I'm a HUGE NIN fan, and the first album I heard was With Teeth. So when I heard The Fragile, it was a huge contrast and just sounded like a lot of angry noise with no musicality. So, I wrote it off for a long time, along with The Downward Spiral. But then, after listening to this album several more times, it grew on me, and it grows on me more every time I hear it! So listen to it 3 or 4 times before making your final judgement!
