iTunes Review
The Allman Brothers Band not only survived the death of slide guitarist Duane Allman in the midst of the Eat a Peach sessions, they subsequently emerged with an extraordinary double album that showcased their many stylistic sides. Ultimately, the band cobbled together a potent mix of nine tracks; three studio cuts with Duane on board, three scintillating tracks from 1971’s monumental Fillmore East shows, and three more studio performances completed after Duane’s tragic motorcycle accident. “Melissa” and “Blue Sky,” with Duane and Dickey Betts trading licks, added a distinct country feel to the set, but the centerpieces remain the live workouts – two ripping blues covers and the 33-minute “Mountain Jam,” which set a standard for improvisational rock that’s rarely been matched.

One of the best rock albums ever
by Make.no.mistakeI love this album. It's a must have for anyone's library. I fell in love with my Sweetheart Patricia while listening to Melissa, so this tender song will always have a special place in my heart, and her's too I believe. An album of blues about the give and take of life. How fitting with the timing of its production.

The Definitive Southern Rock Album & Tribute to Duane Allman
by biggie_smallishAs others have stated, Duane Allman did not survive to see this album through, getting killed in a motorcycle accident prior to the finish of the album. The album's name comes from 1 of Duane's most famous quotes (and one of my all-time favorites): "Every day I eat a peach for peace". Every song on this album is worth a listen. Even "Mountain Jam" should be listened to at least once all the way through (after that just fast-forward to your favorite part(s)). Absolute favorite song on this album is "Melissa", which makes me sad every time I hear it, both thinking about the loved ones I've lost and about how Gregg Allman and the other band members must have felt when they got the news of Duane's untimely death. Buy this album. RIP Duane Allman & Berry Oakley
