Album Review
While their debut was practically a revolution in the development of a satisfactory fusion of singer/songwriter vocals and drum'n'bass, Lamb's second album sets the bar much higher. As on the band's debut, Andy Barlow proves he's one of the most capable and inventive producers in the electronic community. He also still sounds inspired by the fiery side of bop as well as more muted chamber music, from the dexterous synthetic bass and intricate drum programs on "Little Things" to the restrained beats and orchestral tug of "All in Your Hands" and "Bonfire." Similar to the rather deflated return of Portishead in 1997, though, Fear of Fours suffers from Louise Rhodes' tendencies to play up her voice as a torch diva, overemoting and often coming off as girlish or whiny on many tracks. Thank goodness, then, for lengthy instrumentals like "Ear Parcel," which begins with the pastoral sounds of twinkling bells and croaking frogs but later whips up a few frenzied breakbeats as a bed for a sampled trumpet solo.

Awesome album, error with the tracks
by andermikeThis is a fantastic album, but I noticed iTunes made an error with the tracks. The order is right - The first four track names are Soft Mistake, Little Things, B Line, and Untitled. However, those aren't the tracks that play.
The first two are correct. When I play B Line, it just plays a different part of Little Things. The Untitled Track is actually B Line. The audio for the untitled track is missing. It should be a 7 second guitar sound effect.
So what you hear is actually Soft Mistake, Little Things, Little Things, B Line, All In Your Hands, and so on.
So to fix it, the audio that plays for Untitled needs to play for B Line, and they need to add the actual Untitled track to the album.
Just a heads up.
a masterpiece
by FeltMountainin my most genuine of opinions, having been a HUGE fan of lamb for ages, this is by far their strongest, most compelling of releases. and that's comparing it to the wonderously delicious debut. from beginning to end, you're entranced.
Lamb's Best?
by NoahThirteenI lost this CD about 5 years ago and decided to purchase all the songs again. This is a really strong album which has a great flow from song to song, and (in my opinion) should be listened to in its entirety . Lamb's first album was great but I find this one more listenable to after 7 years, (perhaps a bit more upbeat). If you are going to own one Lamb recording it should be this one!
