iTunes Review
Bratty, snide, and brash but rarely sophomoric, Green Day's major label debut is an explosion of punk-pop pleasure. Three chords haven't sounded this good since the Ramones. Green Day's world is one of suburban revolution, where dad is covered in tats and mom burns the toast with a blowtorch. They've found the promise of the American Dream a joke, but don't know who's to blame. Songs like "Chump," "Long View," and "Emenius Sleeping" point the finger randomly, including back at themselves. Billie Joe Armstrong's adenoidal singing is ideally suited to these songs. With his faux British accent, he comes off as justifiably petulant. Dookie helped revived punk music, wrapping it in great pop songs like "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around," somehow making furious dissatisfaction fun again.

It Doesn't get any better than this
by philliephanatic92In terms of rock it's amazing, but in terms of punk, this is the best punk rock alubm of the 90s and one of the most influential rock albums of the last 20 years. If this isn't good music, than there really isnt any good music at all. Green Day= Greatness
