Album Review

Its easy to see why the Kottonmouth Kings are such likely protégés for the Insane Clown Posse. Like the wicked Clowns the Kings are a white, hardcore rap duo with "parental advisory" lyrics with a sound that's almost identical. Instead of Faygo and the dark carnival, Kottonmouth Kings bust rhymes about smoking weed. While not really having much to say other than lobbying for the legalization of cannabis, the album does have entertaining moments, especially on the tracks "We the People" and "Wickit Klowns" a collaboration with (you guessed it) ICP. This album will no doubt have a strong appeal among teenage males looking to drive their parents crazy. Adults disturbed by the content should listen to the CD closely because beneath the hardcore rap exterior the songs often act as tributes to wholesome drug anthems of the past. The words "legalize it" made famous by reggae great Peter Tosh grace the album cover, and at one point the two bust into a near endless repetition of the Grateful Dead's immortal refrain "What a long strange trip its been."

Best they ever had

High Society is by far the best album KMK has ever had. In my opinion its the best they ever will have. Im not gunna say all the other ones are bad but they dont even compare to this album. I hate to say it but they kinda started going on a dowhill slump after Fire It Up. Each CD has particular songs that are "good" Bump, Me & My Skate, So High, Roll It Up, Tell Me Why, Life Rolls On, 420, Wheres the Weed At?, King Klick, Where I'm Going?, Puff N Tuff, Rest Of My Life... But I can listen to High Society front to back still without skippin a song just like the first day i bought it eight years ago. If your a KMK fan and you dont have this CD then.... your not a KMK fan. Dont get me wrong KMK's new stuff is alright, but this album is the best one, and forever will be. SWED Blaze Your Own Trails. Pe@ce!
