Original sounds, straight up nasty beats...

by Klaymatik

Obviously the guy who wrote the only other review has no idea what he is talking about. All electro is breakbeat! Until people started making electro-house in the last few years, electro didn't follow a 4/4 beat pattern.

Anyway, this album is well put together. Cursor Miner has tight programming and he uses a nice mix of synths and live sounding kits. He also throws in a nice nod to the Apollo 440 track "Ain't Talking About Dub." The album is also pretty high BPM so going to sleep would be near impossible. If you want some really high paced electro, get the album...

Thoroughly impressive. Breakbeat-electro is not for everyone. But references from New Order to Kraftwerk appear with regularity. No two beats are ever the same: There are bleeps, creeps, scratches, bass lines and samples that make every 4-beat-per-measure feel singular and different. Production is not masterful, but many tracks are beyond club worthy. Look up Amon Tobin and Freq Nasty if you enjoy this as much as I did.
