Album Review
Time takes its cues more from such bands as the Alan Parsons Project and Wings than from Jeff Lynne's fascination with Pepper-era Beatles. Sure, all the electronic whirrs and bleeps are present and accounted for, and Time did spawn hit singles in "Hold on Tight" and "Twilight," but on the average, ELO had begun to get too stuck on the same structure and content of their releases. "The Way Life's Meant to Be" echoes very early ELO hits like "Can't Get It Out of My Head," and the "Prologue" and "Epilogue" segments try and bring about a unifying concept that doesn't quite hold up upon listening all the way through. Time proves to be competent ELO but not great ELO.

Oh WOW! Just wow. This is amazing.
by tedbraggI just purchased this a few minutes ago. Never heard of ELO until today. Really at a loss how to describe how much I enjoy this! A mix of old and new, very imaginative. Heavy Beetles influence, I hear some Elvis, old-school 70s rock -- man, how did I grow up in the 80s and NOT hear of ELO?!?
Just read they've been split for awhile -- very sad. If they were playing a concert, I'd be first in line.
There's nobody out there these days who do it like ELO.
PERFECTION AT ITS BEST
by OCEANZX4THE ULTIMATE ELO ALBUM. A MUST HAVE IN YOUR COLLECTION. WISH WE COULD HEAR THIS KIND OF MUSIC ON THE AIRWAVES AGAIN. AS A MUSICIAN MYSELF I THINK THIS IS THEIR BEST COLLECTION OF SONGS. CHECK IT OUT.
Time By E.L.O is never out of sync.
by Blue Razor 88This excellent theme album explores a magical futuristic period and is linked throughout the album like a masterpiece of the melodic imagination. This is by far their most consistently excellent album. A must for any E.L.O fans who wish to explore depth beyond the highlights of a greatest hits album. Turn off the lights, sit in your favorite chair and prepare to be transported to a fantastic future of well transitioned sound.
