Nice band

An awesome, must-have album
by cooool catThis group is an amazing and eclectic blend of moods, rhythms and sounds that both energize and sooth – from the driving beat and hot keyboard work in “Rebirth” to “Peter’s Shadow” which is the audio equivalent of floating down a sun-speckled river on a cool, lazy summer afternoon. The first time I heard them was at a tiny club in Southern California and I was an instant fan. At times there is a Herbie Hancock flavor to their sound (“See Ya In Heaven”), at other times it is reminiscent of Gentle Giant (“Tuba Four”) but this very talented ensemble is completely original. Buy the whole album; you’ll love every track!
Sketchbook by Six30Jam
by Tuba FourSix30Jam is an all original instrumental band, fusing Funk, Blues, Jazz and Rock into its own unique sound. The beginnings of the band took shape when Albert Ibrahim (keyboards) and Doug Koeppen (bass) met in 1994. Almost a decade later, they went into their respective studios to record their first tunes. Their search for additional band members was completed with the addition of guitarist Bill Backal and drummer Phil Erlich.
Six30Jam's debut CD, Sketchbook, includes 12 songs highlighting the band's diverse musical backgrounds and features several guest players.
The band weaves rich harmonic textures over complex chord structures, combines haunting melodies with jazz nuances, and explores new rhythmic landscapes.
