iTunes Review

Don’t be fooled by Lily Allen’s charming, pixie voice and singsong delivery — this gal’s a firecracker. Armed with a razor wit and a sailor’s vocabulary, she delivers biting lyrics and humorous insults with attitude and sass, and revels in playing the jaded, cynical girl. Jammed with catchy hooks and clever samples, some of these songs are positively addictive, in particular three infectious slices of ska-soaked pop: “Smile” gleefully mocks the tears of an ex-boyfriend; “LDN” details a stroll through the seedier streets of London amidst a host of criminals and other social deviants; and “Not Big” is a lengthy putdown about a former lover’s shortcomings. Another standout is “Knock ‘Em Out,” a hilarious take about having to endure unwanted advances at a club that makes brilliant use of a rolling Professor Longhair piano lick. Blatantly irreverent and snotty, Allen clearly loves mixing barbs with her beats and it’s nearly impossible not to laugh along with her.

This album will make you laugh

The lyrics are biting, but humerous, and her light voice just makes it somehow even funnier to listen to. The songs themselves, I found, are catchy and interesting. Most people would probably like "Smile", and while that's a very good song, I find myself clicking on "Everything's Just Wonderful" and "Alfie" for a listen most often. I'm not much of a pop genre listener, so I'm not sure if she's comparable to anyone else. But, the whole package seems to carry a lot of originality to me, and I think that's what ultimately keeps me listening to this album.

Practiclly PERFECT!!!!!!!!

This is what started it all!!!! In this album Lily show's her more playful side in this album. Not as political, you've got to admit it. I love it how she says what she want's she doesn't give a crap what other people say. Lily speaks the truth not just the typical love song (I love you but you're mean but don't leave me because I love you). Thank goodness that someone finally has some courage and actually speaks. For many artists it just in one ear and out the other, BORING!!!!!!!!!

Smile 10/10 Lily's first single EVER!!! In this song she expresses her feeling's toward her (Ex) boyfriend. It's a very creative approach to the average love song. I really like her view in this song. Plus it's very catchy.

Knock 'Em Out 10/10 The chorous is a bit messy but it's a very fast and quick song. It really show's Lily's fun-loving side. Also the special effects/silly voices are so laughable and cute. I got a chuckle when I first heard the song. I like how she's talking about not bringing some guy home with her but also making it funny.

LDN 9/10 First of all what does LDN mean?? This song is really high and up-beat. She's really just talking about a walk in London Town. It's a nice way to lighten up the record. I really like how the song is so happy but also talking about real problems in the world.

Everything's Just Wonderful 10/10 My favorite song on the album. It's soo funny with all the bu-bu's and the fast beat. Put it all together and you have a perfect song. There's not really a meaning to the song though. It's all over the place. One minute it's about eating spaggetti then it's about looking like Kate Moss. Ummmm ok. LOL!!

Not Big 8/10 You can really hear her British accent in this song, FUN!!! This is a really fast and fun song in some parts and then it's a bit sad. Oh well I still really like it!!!

Friday Night 10/10 I really like this song. It's a little sad but really cool at the same time. It's a really cool way to express a night at the bar. With nice and rude people. The language is a bit intense in this song. Itunes won't even allow her to say **** in this song. Wow that's a bit much.

Shame For You 7/10 Umm this song is a bit confusing. What does this all mean. Her words seem a bit slurred at some parts. I really love it when she say's "Shatter da La" or something like that I really couldn't understand her. My point exactly.

Littlest Things 9/10 A cool sounding song, that you would want to jam on the radio. It's a sweet and cute love song. I really enjoy this song becuse it's a nice way to soften the album.

Take What You Take 10/10 One of my favorite song's of the album. She's practiclly saying take it,do it, say it, I don't care. The record is the perfect mix of fast and slow. It's really good!!!

Friend Of Mine 7/10 She really slows it down but also keeps it a bit fast to. She sound really high in this song. It's my least favorite song on this record.

Alfie 10/10 Sooooo Funny, I laughed over and over and over. It's soo cute. She talks about real problems but keeps it sweet. Awwww My dear Mon Friend!!!!!!

Nan You're A Window Shopper 10/10 In this song she practiclly talks the whole time but she sound's awsome doing it. There's not really a meaning but it's a nice way to just poke fun at people (I don't know why but it does poke fun in a way). It's a total blast. Like WOO HOO fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smile (Mark Ronson version) 8/10 Sounds a bit older. Like 50's. It's a fun dance song!!!!!!!!!! It makes you want to junp up and shake your booty!!!

This is a great album. Even at such a young age Lily had soo much potential!!! I can't wait for more Lily. This Album is another reason to love Lily!!!!!!!!!!!!!
