Delightful, Whimsical, Fitting
by EmilytheKChristophe Beck crafts a quiet, understated soundtrack that perfectly matches Molly Shannon's understated portrayal of an animal lover in mourning. The music fits perfectly with the movie, never overpowering it, and only truly rising to meet your ears in the final scenes. The score fit so well that it was only until I heard "Peggy's Goodbye" that I realized how well it was composed. To that end, I purchased the final Beck tune on the disc, which is a beautiful wandering waltz, evoking the feeling of traveling and soaring through life. A mournful yet uplifting chord progression expresses what we see Peggy contemplating - a goodbye, a hello, a transition; another step in the journey of the life she shares with the animals she loves.
For the person wanting Found Music for Harmonium.. whatever
by Encognittoand for all the other folks complaining about being forced to purchase the album to get the only piece of music they want.... USE ITUNES and look for the 'only song' another way. For this one, you can look up Penguin Cafe Orchestra... and there it is THE ONE SONE YOU WANT... w/o buying the album... Sorry, i know there are others out there that have figured this out, but i read it time and time again, and almost am always able to find the 'one song' through other means.... LIke the Paul McCartney wonderful tune from 'The Lake House'... i found it, not on the album, but by typing in the song. ITUNES brought the album it was on, and i purchased it. Okay, excuse me, but finally had to get this off my chest...
I only want one song!!
by lucilucidMusic for a Found Harmonium; that's the ONLY song I want from this group. Not the jazzed up versions of this song either. That was the only song I wanted from the Napoleon Dynamite movie, but it wasn't on their soundtrack. Why being so stingy with the best song you've got, people?? I'd be MUCH more prone to purchasing more of your songs if I was able to buy the one I wanted to FIRST. Just offering the song with the conditional of buying a bunch of other songs tells me that your other songs must be crap, therefore to get rid of them, tack them on to your one big seller. NOT A GOOD IDEA in this ipod era. For this reason alone, I will NOT purchase this album, not even to get the ONE song I DO want.
