Stone is an amazing live performer, usually depending only on an acoustic guitar and a mysterious loop-sampler-thing to put together a show that is as mesmerizing as it is intimate. Listening the full-on produced versions of Stone's songs on Little Revolution is a revelation--the recorded versions are lush and electronic and contemporary, as if Stone has used his fundamentally strong songwriting skills as a launching pad for a variety of colorful (and occasionally explosive) rockets. This album is off the hook!

Soulful, groovy rock

My favorite track is "Man Behind the Glass", but every song on this CD fits some mood of mine on any given day. "Background music for the soundtrack of your life."

Noah Stone More Like Lennon Than Leonard

by Revolution9

I’ve never bought a CD where there weren’t at least a few throw away songs that the very nature of these song’s existence was to provide filler as opposed to providing meaningful content. Even Abbey Road had Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. Not so with Little Revolution. Amazing that every song has the hooks, the meaning, the wry pontifications on life and the melody that has you humming along even when it’s not playing. Married to a Mystery is to me, a modern day Strawberry Fields – haunting melodies and metaphorical lyrics that hang onto you. Comparing Noah Stone to Lennon is an easier reach than how he has been compared to Leonard Cohen. Marc Cohn came close to Stone’s penchant for songwriting with Walking Through Memphis, but that’s where the similarity ends. Stone is a story teller. The song Father to My Son carries more poignant weight than Cat Steven’s ‘Father and Son’ and McCartney’s post-Beatles ‘Put It There’. Little Revolution is fantastic, and I can’t wait to hear Stone’s next project.
