iTunes Review

NYC’s Interpol’s third album and major label debut, 2007’s Our Love to Admire, picks up where their previous album, Antics, left off. The group’s dance-friendly rhythms recall the glory days of British post-punk when large amounts of reverb, scraping guitars, lugubrious synths and emotionally detached vocalists created a cold, apocalyptic vibe. After their first album, Interpol backed off their Joy Division emulation but lost none of this British rock sound. Singer Paul Banks isn’t much for melody but he commands the group as a tight-lipped leader barking orders from great heights. Guitarist Daniel Kessler follows behind with strong, stinging guitar riffs that shimmer with effects. Strings and brass augment “Wrecking Ball” and “Pioneer to the Falls,” but it’s the sheer force of will behind “All Fired Up” and the sweaty, garage-band basics of “Rest My Chemistry” and “Who Do You Think” that make the strongest impression. With a few new melodies, Interpol could stretch their sound away from the ‘80s and into the new millennium.

I love all Interpol's albums I am not easily pleased. There are songs I didn't give a chance a couple of years ago that I love now! I've purchased around 21 of their songs & each one has 5 stars from me. The crazy thing is their top rated song isn't in my top ten VERY favorites. Love em!!!!!!

I'm not so sure what it is, but this album always makes me happy! The cover, the song names, the singer... Definetly worth the buy.

Although formed during the late '90s, Interpol rose to international attention in 2002 as part of New York City's post-punk revival.
