iTunes Review

Ringo Starr’s third solo album was the one to finally put him back in the proper public eye in the proper context. No longer trying out sentimental pop standards or country-western fare, Ringo is joined here with extensive help from his incredible list of important and influential friends. John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Billy Preston, Klaus Voormann, Marc Bolan, Harry Nilsson, Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Keyes, Steve Cropper, Martha Reeves, Merry Clayton, Linda McCartney, the Band, and Jim Keltner all guest, with Lennon contributing the album’s opening Beatlesque track “I’m the Greatest,” McCartney offering the likeable “Six O’Clock,” and the George Harrison co-write of “Photograph” becoming the album’s most substantial hit. Ringo hams it up with Johnny Burnette’s “You’re Sixteen You’re Beautiful (And You’re Mine)” and even gets a tad serious for Randy Newman’s “Have You Seen My Baby” that features T. Rex’s Marc Bolan on guitar. The reissue includes Ringo’s other hits from the era, including “It Don’t Come Easy” and the Beatle-centric “Early 1970.”

If you only buy one of Ringo Starr's solo albums, this is the one to buy. solid album from ringo and it features all of his former bandmates from the Beatles (on separate tracks). George helped Ringo with numerous songs on this album, Lennon wrote I'm the Greatest, and McCartney worked on You're Sixteen and also wrote Six oclock. definetely a must have for any Ringo fans.

Start to finish great album

Rinog starr didn't always have a great singing voice but when he sings you just know it's him This album really hits the spot for any Ringo starr fan Stuff like:I'm the Greatest, Photograph, You're Sixteen, and It don't come easy make this album a good listen

Just in general, awesome and hilarious

Ringo's solo career. In no respect quite as serious as the solo careers of george, paul, and john's, but definately the most fun. George went kinda "Hari Krishna Pop", John went on to write "Experimental stuff", mostly. Paul wrote billboard shmaltzy crap, and Ringo, great old ringo, wrote stuff that was simply fun. This album has all of his great songs short of the No-No song. And until beatles are on iTunes, try to scratch the itch with Ringo by Ringo and Live in Japan by George. The best tracks are I'm the Greatest, Photograph, You're Sixteen, Oh My My, and It don't come easy. Good Luck Shopping!
