Like a can of soda pop shaken vigorously, Eleventyseven’s music fizzes and spurts all over their 2007 album Galactic Conquest. The sophomore release by this Christian pop/punk trio careens with joyful abandon, propelled by breakneck tempos and curvaceous melodies. Sonically, the tracks combine the guitar ferocity of MxPx with the day-glo synth colors of Joy Division. Matt Langston’s frenetic, cheeky vocal delivery fills songs like “Love In Your Arms,” “How It Feels (To Be With You)” and “Galaxies Collide” with a giddy sense of rapture. Beyond all the bounciness, Eleventyseven makes some serious points in “Happiness” (contrasting earthly with spiritual contentment) and “Retail Value” (condemning materialistic conformity). At the other extreme lies “Conan,” a paean to a certain late-night TV host. As with similar punk-influenced Christian bands, Elventyseven’s sillier moments threaten to neutralize their overall message. That said, if you’re in the mood for a high-fructose audio rush, Galactic Conquest is a refreshing choice.

by XOrelientKelsXOso basically if Relient K and Family Force 5 had a baby, it would be EleventySeven as heard in "Galatic Conquest"! i had heard of EleventySeven before, but i had never really given them a listen until "Galactic Conquest" - and when i did, i fell in love! The songs in this album range from cutesy synthy upbeat love songs to songs that encourage believers to persevere through trying times to ridiculous songs about unicorns and Conan O'Brien! its just fantastic! XD
my favorite songs on this album are "Love In Your Arms", "Galaxies Collide", "The Starship Unicorn", and "Happiness", and the remixes are deadly catchy and make you want to listen to them overandoverandover! but honestly i DO recommend getting the entire album, because every single song is just awesome and you'd be missing out heftily if you only bought a few!

by SupadrUI had looked at this album on iTunes, and after reading the review, I was afraid that it would be too "high-fructose"......... YEAH RIGHT!!! I got Galactic Conquest for Christmas, and I have enjoyed it every time I listen to it. This album will not let down anyone who is looking for a fun band with good, obviously Christian lyrics, especially fans of Relient K, Hawk Nelson, Stellar Kart, etc. Don't hesitate to buy this album that, after takeoff, won't let you down! =D
***Galaxies Collide is amazing, but all of the songs are so good that it is hard to pick any favorites, so just try the whole album.... or listen to it on itunes if you are hesitant. =) ***** Have fun!
