Finale

by jiggerhazzle

if you enjoy the last track on this album, Finale, as much as I do, then you really need to listen to the music that Explosions in the Sky has been putting out, particularly the album "The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place." While I love Finale, I think it would've been a lot better if they had let Explosions have a shot at the last song. Still, it's great to hear something new and different from Elfman, even if it is borrowing heavily from another band.

Never have I heard such a direct rip off of another band. Let's see, Peter Berg, Friday Night Lights . . ."Finale" is an almost note for note hack job of EITS "Your Hand In Mine." Maybe Elfman was trying to sound like EITS, yeah, that's it," I didn't rip off anyone, I wanted this to be "in the style of EITS." Yeah, that's the ticket. Only, EITS would have done it better with twice the sonic range and originality.
