Album Review
The little-seen political thriller Lions for Lambs reunites director Robert Redford with composer Mark Isham, whose taut orchestral score underlines both the strengths and weaknesses of the genre in question. With its expert arrangement of vocals and strings as well as its visceral percussion, Lions for Lambs skillfully manufactures the necessary tension, ratcheting up the drama and suspense with each successive cue. However, for all its creativity and craft, the score follows a predictable trajectory that ultimately dulls its overall impact — you can only ride the same roller coaster so many times before its twists and turns become predictable, even if Isham manages to go faster and higher than the average thrill ride.

AMAZING!
by AJSmith1988Amazing! I absolutely love orchestral music with heavy percussion and occasional techno-like beats. I love the way Isham uses swells in the strings. The soundtrack is simplistic in a good way, and gets right to the soul of the movie (I was lucky enough to see it in a pre-release showing!). I got goosebumps listening, especially to tracks 7 and 16, and that's no joke. This is great study or reading music! P.S. See the movie!
