Lovely blend of textures & tempos

Normally I HATE saxaphones, but this album is a DEFINITE exception. The combination of the sax and percussion instruments (including the unusual steel-drum-like texture of the hang) & double bass combine for unusual musical flavors on each track. Personal favorites? Knee-Deep In the North Sea, Cittagazze, & Steps In the Wrong Direction. Can't wait for their next album to come out!

Excellent musicianship and superb recording quality. Its new jazz with plenty of hints at older styles. A must listen for old timers and newcomers to the genre as well.

tasty and fresh
