This is an awesome movie/soundtrack!
by YumexKitsuneOk, Seeing as how some of you guys go on about saying this movie is athiest, why do you even care? I mean, it's a movie, and a seriously awesome one at that, but why would you care if it it's athiest or not, you shouldn't judge something because of that, and if you really are that religious just leave it alone, it's not as if this movie or the books are telling you God is fake.
As for the music, I personally love every track on it, the music is beautiful and fits this movie perfectly, my favorite tracks would have to be Lyra, Ice Bear Combat, and Lord Asriel.
I want KATE not the album!

Pretty good, but lost a little sound from the movie
by PokemonLuvaOne of the best songs on here is Battle With the Tartars. It has a nice clashing tone throughout, but still sounds like classic fantasy music. Iorek Byrnison and The Golden Monkey are good too, and The Golden Compass is a light, slightly lilting theme.
Well written and well played, nice music, but nothing special, and it may be the lack of imagery or maybe they just recorded it wrong, but this sounded better with the movie.
Also, a few points for the disparaging reviews out there:
1. Lyra does not kill God in the last book. Metatron had taken over and trapped God into existence. If you take a good hard look, she's actually freeing him, being merciful.
2. This is FICTION, people. God created everything. Gotcha. I bet Pullman even went to church. I know I do and I love the books (and the movie). You don't have to be a devil worshipper to write, read, or watch this movie/book...because it's NOT REAL!!!
3. Don't judge a soundtrack by its plotline. Or vice-versa. Ever.
4. "Lyra". Maybe it's not worth paying twelve bucks for, but that doesn't mean the rest of the album's trash.
