Firefall Acoustic - Colorado to Liverpool

by Beaubrummel

Firefall was a solid band of the 1970s with great harmony and dynamite guitar work from Jock Bartley. They still have it and they brought it to some fine Beatles' songs for this album. A lot of artists have recorded Beatles' songs, and many have done a good job of interpreting the music of Lennon and McCartney, and Harrison, but none better than Firefall has done in this offering. I give this album the maximum number of stars. If I have any criticism, it's that I would have chosen a few different songs from some of the ones they chose. But, that is simply a matter of taste. They performed very well on the songs they did choose. I play guitar and sing, and have a number of Beatles' songs in my repertoire, including four of the ones on this album. I don't claim to play guitar like George Harrison or to sing like any of the Beatles. Firefall doesn't sound like the Beatles either, and that is a good thing. If you want to hear someone sounding just like the Beatles, listen to the Beatles. Firefall sounds like Firefall and that is plenty good. If you are a Beatles fan, or a Firefall fan, or both, like me, add this one to your collection!
