by deuces45If you listen to the message of the songs on this album you get a glimpse of THE true story, Jesus Christ. In "Crimson Stain" the lyrics are "When I'm hungry God I know Your Word will fill me. When I'm thirsty God let it rain, rain on me." That's what this music does, it satisfies a need. And then the original, unconventional melodies carry you away with their blend of driving American Rock n Roll and the tighter British Rock influences. The voices are dead-on with the lead vocal's raspy "saw dust and baby oil" voice mixing with the smooth high tenor to find that sweet spot in harmony. In "The Finale" the listener gets everything from the off-beat carnival "organ grinder" keyboard, to the Wizard of Oz influences, to sudden breaks in rhythm, to synthesized voices. Creativity is definitely high on the list of priorities when True Story cuts an album. In a live show True Story is uncontained. They can't just play the music, they are the music, from one side of the stage to the other. So, unless you can get a ticket to their show, get this album! Experience True Story.
Amazing Album!
by gurlattherockshowThis album is one of the best contemporary Christian albums today. Every song gives something different, yet all are simply for the praising of God; well, all except Little Red Wagon- that was just a fun song. The lyrics are inspirational and the music is top-notch. I would definitely recommend buying the album, but I would recommend even more going to see them play live! When they play, you can see their passion for God spill out and it is totally contagious! Wonderful men, wonderful music, wonderful God.
great in concert too!!
by mattmwouldpeeinhispantsi first saw true story in concert at a church event. when they are singing live it really moves you, and they are good in the studio also.
i love the song crimson stain, because it starts out slow but then it starts getting faster and faster. i would recommend getting a few songs off this album, and going to see them!! it will not be a waste of your time. =)
