I say that because I should give this newfound love affair with MAPS & ATLASES some time to settle before writing a review. This album is both indie rock and unlike any music I've heard before- frenetic mathematical boom tappa doodle-dee-doopa-doopa, jangle-jangle, ka-chacka-chacka (rest) BOOM, crash! WOO-HOO! I love it!
I wish it were longer, I give it 5 stars, but there are criticisms, mainly the length. Also, their previous EP, their debut of sorts, is even better.
But I cannot bone these guys %20 by giving them only 4 stars.
This music is just way better than all the other things out there. It sounds like the Police on Ritalin. It sounds like a swiss timepiece and a jack-in-the-box had a prodigal, although nasaly son. You and Me and the Mountain is so good I am mad at my parents for not being born in Chicago.
Its under 5 bucks. Do yourself a favor, Champ.

good, could be better

i thought this album lost something from their past EP tree, swallows, houses. it's good no doubt but having heard their earlier amazing album (which was the single album that brought me into the genre) this just didn't quite satisfy me. however if you like this band i absolutely recommend them, and more specifically, their first album, "tree, swallows, houses". hopefully their next album will make up for it. godspeed maps & atlases

So so so so good

This music is just plain fun to hear. It loosely fits the genre of Math Rock, but it is very accessible and easy to listen to. This is the first album of theirs that I bought, and I was pleasantly surprised and instantly addicted. I have yet to hear their other EP, but i imagine it is just as insane. These guys are the picture of the best band you never heard of, although that phrase is used way too much. Catch them on the upswing.
