A good start...
by legendarypowerOk, so I know Mr. Boa, but I would prefer an honest review so I'll give one. The good: songwriting and lyrics and general production ideas. Interesting instrumentation and clear references (arcade fire, grateful dead, etc.) The "needs work areas": vocal performances! "They" say a band is only is good as its vocals, and "they" are right. The "organic" (translation: sloppy) feel to the vocal performance was a distraction to me. Also, the instrumental parts weren't very tight at times, (rushing the beat, etc.) giving the work a sloppy character. Some real attention to vocal performance and nailing the parts during recording would go a long way towards making this a much better record. But when all is said and done, this is a very heartfelt and honest effort, and often some ultra slick recordings that cost 100 times what this project cost often lack that. There is more good to this record than bad, and that is harder to accomplish than it sounds. Keep it up!
