Out of Context, an Awesome Soundtrack
by . . . _ _ _ . . .I will be honest: I laughed through Death Race--though I'll admit, the beginning was pretty cool. Like "The Happening," it was a cool idea that didn't execute well, and much of the time it was so bad I couldn't help but think it was funny.
However, the soundtrack was incredible--replacing the string-based template used in most film scores and instead taking on a more techno/industrial feel that you might find in Nine Inch Nails' album "Ghosts I-IV" or Hans Zimmer's "Synchrotone" from Black Hawk Down. The music was much of the time the sole thing keeping the intensity of the movie intact, and if you want to experience whatever thrill there was in the movie, you should just buy this album.
