thick and sensuous like smoky black eyeliner
by nativemuseRaveonettes deserve praise for bringing back an updated twist to both the mod 60s & alt-grunge 90s. Evokes images of late nights, smoky eyeliner, go-go dancers at clubs, walking down the street with friends, getting ready to go out, numbing out to avoid the pain of overthinking life. They've mastered a specific musical niche and made it relevant as it should be. Very well done.

by mute007If the Jesus and Mary Chain, Mazzy Star, and Phil Spector had a child... it would be The Raveonettes. This is a hard torch to carry and understandably comes with alot of scrutiny and critisism. Yet, the Raveonettes pull it off. This record is less like Lust, Lust, Lust and more like their fist 2 records that had more of the JAMC/Alan Moulder-produced influence. While I like Lust Lust Lust and Pretty in Black..those 2 records are essentially The Ronettes tribute albums, Ronnie Spector even makes an appearance on Lust Lust Lust!!! However, these 3 records (Whip it On, Chain Gang of Love, and Beauty Dies) are easily my favorite and I believe truly shows the more edgier and experimental prone side of the band. I was very happy to hear the Raveonettes return to this sound for this EP after the last 2 records. Classic stuff for the shoe gazing ages.
another Great EP
by SonicRaveevery song on this EP is a masterpiece the intro & outro of here come's the end reminds me of sonic youth. the jazzy experiment of the thief is amazing. Everything the Raveonettes do is always going to blow my mind. I recomend every piece of the Raveonettes music.
