A must have for your iPod
by Jerusalem DonkeyThis album pays homage to the inventor of the synthesizer, Robert A. Moog. All the tracks feature his invention, whether the monstrous Moog Modular system or the inimitable, fat sounding Minimoog Model D - acclaimed as possibly one of the most important keyboards EVER invented. This is the keyboard that drove bass players out of the studio in the 70's - namely, when Bernie Worrell (featured on this album playing one of the fattest, nastiest synth bass grooves you'll ever hear) broke it out on Parliament's "Flashlight". This is the keyboard that could actually compete with the electric guitar, as Rick Wakeman quipped on the sentiments of many guitarists.... "Oh damn! He's got a Minimoog!" The album has incredible tracks that show us the genesis of electronic music as we know it today. Everyone who enjoys funk, dance pop, electronica and prog rock owes a debt of gratitude to Bob Moog for his amazing contribution to modern music. A must have for you iPod!
