iTunes Review

This, party people, is where it all began. Not just Daft Punk's illustrious career as intergalactic, filtered French disco dons; try the turning point where rock 'n' roll heads finally realized that God is a DJ, that heart-locked 4/4 beats, hissing hi-hats, and haywire synths start resembling a hell broth-spouting pressure cooker under the right conditions. In this case, the conditions include hard-edged funk and sun-stained progressive house, with some electro and techno faded in and out to ensure the album is as colorful and disorienting as a cracked TV screen. Look, there's a reason one of the coolness qualifiers of LCD Soundsystem's "Losing My Edge" single is playing "Daft Punk to the rock kids," and why the duo's rare live sets are an event, not a 'concert.' And it’s not just their robot suits or ludicrous lighting rig. It's the electrical current Daft Punk maintains through their music. From the static cling of "Burnin'" to the neon shades of "Around the World," Homework isn't a chore; it's Studio 54: The Next Generation and, more importantly, one of dance music's pivotal crossover points.

This is the album that introduced most of the world to Daft Punk! It's a classic!

If you dig Daft Punk, you might like a new compilation from CB Lyon called "French Kiss" that's out on iTunes. It features tracks by Joachim Garraud and A Girl and A Gun. Check it out!!

Why is everyone saying the songs are repetitive. Stop being ignorant. This was when electronica was starting there were no computers to help them all they had was these huge boxes that could only do so much. Either way these guys still made it work.
