Nice collection of modern synthopop
by Synth-LoverI heard of MODyssey through some online forums and did a search for them. Found their only release was this compilation. I bought it for that. And loved the rest. MODyssey's song-writing is very close to old OMD. Melodic, synthy and great. "I Know Goodbye" is the best song... should be on the radio.
Endanger was a nice surprise. From Germany. Very tight futurepop sound. My favorite is "I Count on You". Very cool slow song. The Namnambulu (now defunct) Remix is killer on the dancefloor. Great driving music.
Rhythmic Symphony. Good solid synthpop. I read online he was inspired by The Echoing Green. Anothe favorite band. So this was a natural. "Self Possessed" is my fav... Well-produced synthpop. Meaningful lyrics.
Last band, Provision. I'd heard one song on a compilation from A Different Drum. These songs are more like '80s industrial tracks. Very old-school programming and good vocals. If you like early '80s industrial stuff, this is good. But more updated.. or melodic take on it.
Worth the entire album purchase. I'm going to check-out the volume one next.
