Physics of The Bodhran

by the Vagabond Lawyer

Hypnotic beats & eclectic Irish vocals guide the listener down a haunting journey through the sounds of the Irish backroads and local pubs. This is a very unusual CD I'm happy to have stumbled upon. Playing the guitar, I often pick along to many of its unique beats. An excellent trip, Professor of the Bodhran!!! Recommend to all!

For learning, listening-and instant rhythm section!

Bravo for an very unusual album I found searching iTunes. Most of the tracks are just Mark Stone playing the bodhran all by itself - he plays a different rhythm (slip jig, polka, etc.) on each track (two tracks have bodhran and vocal; one has bodhran and fiddle; another has bodhran and flute). All great stuff if you're learning to play the bodhran. I'm not, but I play the tin whistle and this album is an instant rhythm section for me so I can practice my jigs and reels with a steady, professional sounding beat going on! I also enjoy listening to all the tracks with full attention or as background sound - they're very hypnotic in a lively yet relaxing way!
