If you are not in love with vocals driven music when you first play this brilliantly soulful album, you will be by the time you finish listening. This is an impeccably selected and performed collection of classic cover tunes that will make your heart swoon and leave you with the satisfied rememberance of why this music is nothing less than timeless. What's hip about it, is that is is performed by ultra-talented but little known artists who bestow new energy and punch into the songs while respecting their roots in music history. These guys had a lot of fun recording this music, and it comes through in the whole album which left me feeling great and wanting more. I missed fathers day but am going to gift this one to my parents and an aunt or uncle or two when the holidays roll around as I am sure they will flip for it. (Plus it will give me something fab to listen to when I visit.) This is a great album to play when guests come over as it brings things down to earth and relaxes people immediately. Lisa Lynne Mathis is an undiscovered gem and I would not be surprised if she goes off to score a big record deal after this album. Other great ones on the disc are Nicole Pasternak anhd Ralph Lalama, Shavonneand Daddy-O, Rebeccea Spencer and Robert Lindner. If you truly have good and diverse musical taste, this album will leave you uplifted and satisfied. I LOVED IT.
