Well at least he's consistent...consistently awful
by mrmuzakI agree with the Tuxedo reviewer. When I saw this guy had a Christmas CD, after listening to his awful "self-described" jazz album I'm Wishing, I had to check this one out. well i have to say he is at least consistent. Have you ever heard of Mrs. Miller? Her CD became a cult classic a few years back because it was so bad. I used to bring it to parties and everyone would get a kick out of it because it was that bad. I think I have found the Mrs. Miller CD of 2007. But I hate to waste the 9.99 on this. I would say, in the words of Barbra Streisand (Superman '77), don't believe what you read. I think jazzman that wrote reviews for this singer has to be a personal friend. This guy is not a jazz singer in anway shape or form. He should quit saying that because he is doing himself more harm than good. He is an ok/passable musical theater singer, but definitely not a jazz singer. You want to hear a great male jazz singer for Christmas check out Mel Torme or Kenny Rankin. This will be a let down for you if you are seeking out new male jazz vocalists. Just come someone has a combo behind them does not make one a jazz singer. A true jazz singer has something that is raw (like Billie Holiday) or can naturally swing (like Ella and Frank.)
