The textures of the music are addicting.
by TBRechBazza has a voice that reels me into his fascinating and often surprising sound textures. I just discovered this artist and am happy I did. I hope to see and hear a lot more from him. I got I Dream of Beavers for a gift and now am hooked on his sound. Cannot catagorize this music which makes it even more fascinating.
Odd, yet thoroughly likeable
by SaintnateDon't be fooled by the "Country" genre listing; Portland, OR-based Barry Crawford is too eclectic to fit into one category. Sure, he can sound country when he wants to (and does on Casino Moon), but he can also have a more alt-folk sound (Through the Gaps), or he might surprise you with a classic rock sound (Neil's Coffin), and sometimes he can be outright fun (King of Illegitamacy). The truth is, there isn't a category for him - it's just all-around solid music. Sample a few songs and you'll be hooked.
As excellent as it is eccentric
by mgillowI'm not sure how to describe the music of Bazza. It reminds me a little of Tom Waits, but the music is much more eclectic than that. Joe's Bumpy Ride has a rockin' groove, and then Casino Moon sounds like a 1950s crooner with a whiskey-soaked vocal. I love Neil's Coffin, which I guess is about Neil Young (it's a little hard to tell), but, to tell you the truth, this whole album rocks. Check it out; this guy is a great musical find.
