Quite a bit of Heaven actually!
by pcdonohueLittle Bit of Heaven is enjoyable and memorable, from start to finish. I hadn't expected to get so many songs off the album stuck in my head, and for so long! Carol McComb combines great melody, beautiful lyrics, and spot on arrangements for the great group of talent backing her up. Instrumentally, there's a mixture of guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, violin, pipe, pedal steel, cello, and even a set of bag pipes or two. Sounds ecclectic on paper, but it works in your ear, and backed up with strong vocals by Carol and crew, it's a very enjoyable mix. Personal favorites include "She Always Breaks My Fall", "Simple Melody", "Dreaming in Three-Quarter Time" and of course the title track "Little Bit of Heaven", which is a fun bit of bluegrass thrown into the mix.
