by runcdubThis is a rarity. I bought this CD in 2005. Since then it has been one of only three albums that I downloaded EVERY song onto my IPod. I wish him more success but at the same time would like to keep him on the hush and low so it does not become some coffee shop popular dud where folks tune in to only one song on the album and believe they know the artist personally. Every song is worth a listen and then another go around. Put on repeat and go out for a drive away from the city.
Beautiful
by k-t-kayCasey Black is a singer/songwriter with some of the most beautiful lyrics ever put to melody. I had the rare privelege of seeing Casey perform some of these songs in a friend's living room a few years ago. I'll never forget "Nashville". I cried. It broke my heart then and I still well up with each listen. Mr. Black's songs showcase an intimate knowledge of heartbreak in all its forms; be it the traditional heartbreak of love lost as in "More Than Anything" "Through This Sorrow" and "You are Something" and the heartbreak of surrendering to adulthood and the loss of home as in "Nashville". Those are just a few examples. I highly recommend this album.
