A kind of brutral honesty we all need
by squall4040I heard Dan back in Early 2000... I think, may have been late '99. This album was his newest at the time. We were sort of snowed in at a youth retreat in CO. Being a Christian for almost 20 years I had never heard someone with such a gentle yet brutaly honest stance on the life of someone who is going to lay it all down and follow Jesus Christ. I appreciate you Dan, I hope you read this some time, your testimony and overall walk has inspired me even to this day, and it's been amost 7 years now. God Bless you my friend, Thank you for reaching out to the hearts of us young ignorant yet thirsty souls. I look forward to seeing you again some day, if not here, than in our Father's heavenly prescence.

Teach Me to Sing: Beautiful worship. Vulnerable and confident. I sing this almost daily in my silent and quiet times with God.
Kindred Spirit: Next to "I Am Not Like God", this is my favorite. Again, just plain honest, it's hard to believe this man has ever lied in his life. :o)
I Am Not Like God: No we are not! Thankfully we are made new, fully restored and called to be one with Him.
Falling From The Sky: "Can you fathom endless voices singing, Glory to the Lamb, praises to the King!"
Dear Friends: Musically simple, lyrically perfect... Of course it is taken straight from the good book, I really like this song. I've lead this in worship from time to time with the youth group I now pastor.

by N.H.I remember 1st hearing dan gilliam's music and testimony at Summer in the Son when I was in high school and being blown away by it. I was never more dissapointed than when my copy of Farm Cafe was eaten by a tape player in my car. And now, Its great to rediscover his music at a time when life calls for a gentle reassurance of God's love for the imperfect. I find his music to be refreshingly honest and transparent in a world that values so much airbrushed, polished, shiny fakery. Listen to this album, (and his others). It could change your life.
