Outstanding!
by CapnSassyLike many here, my first encounter with Yusef was at Downtown Disney outside the House of Blues in Anaheim. To hear him and see him is to know a man who was meant to perform. He has a clear love of the music he plays and all of it is simply outstanding. Gifted guitarist. Gifted singer. It's like he was built to play this music. And thank goodness for it. I look for him every time I'm down Disney way, and am delightedly reassured when I see him. Great guy. And the nice lady who sits and sells his cd's while he performs is nice too. Hope iTunes picks up his other cd's and songs!
Brother Yusef Rocks the Blues for Young & Old
by SupergriffI first saw Brother Yusef at Downtown Disney as I was pushing my daughter (then 21 months) in her stroller and she was mesmerized. We stopped and listened and I thought to myself "Finally, she's starting to like good music--No More Barney!" We were back at Disney (now 2 and a half) and saw Yusef again. This time my girl was out dancing, jumping around and gettin' down. Pretty soon there was a toddler mosh pit, but you could see all the parents tapping their toes and clapping along. Once he was done with his set, I went to buy a CD and he talked me into Kids Get the Blues Too and said I would like it as well. He was right. Brother Yusef is a soulful performer and though I highly recommend catching him live, that soul resonates through the CD as well. I'm just so happy he has turned my little girl onto the Blues. Die Barney! Long Live Brother Yusef!
The Real Deal...
by IslandMykI first saw Brother Yusef two years ago at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, where he plays at the Downtown Disney area. Every weekend for the last five years, Yusef plays to a truly international crowd, and it's amazing to see so many different people enjoying his incredible talent. To see him playing the slide is a treat I can't even describe. He's got four other albums, including a new one that's for kids - I highly recommend picking them all up.
I don't know what else to say...Yusef is a great blueman, and a really nice guy. Check his music out!
