Excellence

"God is a Flower", "My Lame Arse", and "Death in Captivity" are really cool. I would just get the whole thing and decipher through. Then go to "Tierra del Gato" for the full Hochimen brilliance...

The Hochimen are Spot-less...

Upon hearing The Hochimen, a few people will say, "Spot's back!" with me being one of them, were it not that due to Spot's ultra short existence even fewer would know what we're talking about. Point is, Reggie Rueffer's voice, lyrics, and driving bass thump home the notion that between Spot then and The Hochimen now, not much has happened in terms of signature sound, which is a good thing. Why, on the other hand, a band around Reggie Rueffer has to remain an obscure affair, complete with stillborn website, a flakey page on My Space, and album entries on amazon.com (where you can pick up Spot for $3!) without pictures, descriptions, or reviews by the faithful may be an indication of deeper rooted inabilities to play the music industry game with conviction. A shame it is. Read the stellar reviews at amazon. These are musicians that sound as if they'd be able to fill a stadium with screaming Japanese girls. I wish them the best. Now we have Totenlieder and Tierra del Gato to round out what started with Spot. Definitely all worth a listen, and if you can do it loud while cruising down the freeway you'll be a convert before you run out of gas. These guys deserve the limelight. Somebody (preferably a whole stadium) should tell them how great they are. I don't think they know that.
