An extraordinary talent
by RickdtI first came across Julia Darling at a small show in NYC and was blown away (as was everyone else) by her performance. It was one of those moments that make living in an often chaotic city worthwhile - witnessing a soon-to-be-star's performance live before they've become giants in the industry. It's like being in a secret club, or the first to be in on a BIG secret. Very satisfying. I became an instant fan and immediately bought her album. Her vocals are haunting, sensitive and vulnerable matched with equally beautiful musical arrangements. Her lyrics are poignant without being pretentious nor are they vapid, they are quite simply - honest. The track "Wake Up" is a clear testament to her gift of expressing the often daunting reality of our lives in an enchantingly touching way. She is an exceptionally talented and gifted performer.

by sumariI discovered Julia Darling accidentally on myspace and I love her! I've been listening to this cd over and over for days now. It's hard to even pick out favorite songs--there are so many good ones. One of these days I'll have to start listening to other singers again but I'm hooked.
