Proof it all comes down to promotion...
by Famous OneLet's face it if mor people even HEARD of her she'd be topping the charts. She isn't to be missed and this album proves it. I recently got hooked on Melody Gardot and I was looking for someone in the same "family" of singers. LastFM mentioned Julie so I looked her up.... yay! She's wonderous! I want more!!! It's not fair that this is the most recent thing we've been given. Someone needs to sign this girl and promote the hell out of her! Thanks for this utterly wonderful album!
pulls at your heart strings
by gonorrhoeaegirlJulie's 5 songs left me yearning for more. Her lyrics are the perfect match for the sweet musical compositions. If you like Dar Williams, Edie Brickell,or Sarah Dashew, you will also really like Julie Moffitt. Her music is reminiscent of these artists, but still presents a fresh take. Plus if you watch the video of her on her MySpace page you realize how cool of a person she is, too. Definitely worth the 5 bux IMHO.
One to another
by movedbymusicJulie's songs don't meld one into another. Each song is indivdually appealing and none sound redundant. Her music speaks to the heart, from her heart without ever being preachy.
Highly recommended set of songs.
