Bringing back memories
by marimbaloveI was fortunate to experience Seamus around 15 or 16 years ago when I was about 10 years old. My dad and I would drive down to Ireland's Own in Alexandra, VA from Pennsylvania to hear him. This album captures the only way to experience Seamus... live. If you haven't heard him before, you can expect to laugh and to cry and to be completely entertained. My tapes don't play anymore because they have been worn out, and the vinyl we had was ruined. So to have his music again makes me immensely happy and takes me back to the little pub where I heard a chihuahua joke for the first time...
An amazing find.
by BacopaI first heard Seamus doig one man shows at The Drummer's Lot in Annapolis in the late 80s. Then I moved to Alexandria Va. What a difference in his shows! Ireland's Own in Alexandria brought out Seamus in all his comedic glory. I loved how he harassed audience members who went to the bathroom or left during a song I learned pretty quick I ought to do the clapping during "Whiskey in the Jar".

by John C. RandolphI first bought this album (on vinyl) from Seamus at Ireland's Own, in Alexandria, Virginia about fifteen years ago, I think it was. Seamus is backed up here by Brad Hayford on guitar and harmonica, and David Teeple on bass. Linda Konczanin adds a lovely backup vocal on "Someone to love me".
If you're in the DC area, make sure you take the time to stop in to the great Irish pubs in the neighborhood. I love this music.
